Hey! I’m Mikey
I don’t have the typical “I grew up with a camera in my hands” type of story. I picked up my first camera at 25 while working at a small startup back in 2015. Social media was REALLY popping off and even brands were jumping on the bandwagon. I was tasked with taking product photos for my employer.
I was instantly hooked and I knew I found something special. In my free time I was scouring YouTube University’s plethora of information to learn as much as I could. Then immediately trying to go out and apply that to get better photos.
Fast forward a few years; all that information turned into good practice habits as I finally caught my first big break.
In 2018 I was hired at the FIU Athletics Department as their lead photographer, and content creator. Where I oversaw all 17 athletic teams and helped grow the FIU brand as a whole. At FIU I was able to flourish and build the tools to creating content consistently at a high level. Five years later and I’m beyond proud of what we were able to build there. Along the way I met some incredible people who played an integral part in my growth, and I wouldn’t be who I am today without them.
Today, I’m experienced in anything from social media direction & strategy, to shooting content for product & lifestyle ad campaigns, food & beverage brands, sporting events, studio portraiture, and even restaurants. I'm always evolving my style so I thoroughly enjoy working with many different types of clients. This keeps me constantly engaged, which is where I do my best work!
